For people, who are starting with AI Image creation, I would recommend DALL-E. I think, it is easy to use and since it is free, the entry barrier in general is really low.
If you want to use AI Image creation more professional, I would recommend Midjourney the Quality is currently unmatched, but it is a bit more tricky.
Good Performance and easy to use
DALL-E or meanwhile DALL-E 2 is the oldest Text to Image Tools. It is being developed by OpenAI, which is also responsible for ChatGPT.
I see the biggest advantage in having no learning curve. You can directly jump in and get good results from the beginning.
It is also the Tool with the best User Interface. And has some interesting features like selecting and area of the generated Image and adding things in it also Via Text Input or expanding the Generated Image.
It is also possible, to upload own Images and expand them.
Even if the results are debatable. Overall, I think it is a great choice for beginners.

The Professional one
Midjourney is, what made Text to Image Tools Popular. The reason for it is simply, that it can make the best images. You may saw the Image of the Pope wearing a Mocler jacket I made.
The only problem is, that it is also the most complex one to use.
It begins with Midjounrey not having a User interface. You basically type your Image request in a Discord (for the older generation it is something like Microsoft Teams) Chat and get the Images as a response, which makes it relatively inconvenient. Since there are hundreds of People on the Discord Server 24/7.
The other issue is, that it is relatively technical. For example, The Text I wrote, to create this image is:
/imagine: The pope in a white quilted jacket by Moncler looking like a pimp –v 5.1 –q 5
I think getting to know those Tags and how to use them can take some time at the beginning.
And on top of that, it is practically not available for free. There is a free Account, but it is only able to generate images, f the Server has enough capacity over. Which isn’t the case since months and likely won’t be the case ever again.

The Future of Advertising?
The majority of people reading this will know Adobe as the Creator of Photoshop or After Effects. During the last two years, they started implementing Artificial Intelligence in their already existing Software Platforms and creating new Tools like Adobe Sensei, Adobe Speech Enhance or Adobe Firefly.
The majority of Adobes AI Tools are currently in Beta, which means that they could change a lot.
Like DALL-E Adobe Firefly is extremely beginner-friendly. It has a simple UI and just requires a free Adobe Amount.
The Problem that I see with Adobe Firefly is, that it can’t create specific Images. Here for example I used the same text “The pope in a white quilted jacket by Moncler looking like a pimp” I used in Midjourney and got an Image which is absolutely unspecific.

The simplest to use.
Just go on the Website and Type in what you want! No Login, No Technical skills required.
I think the simplicity is awesome. But like Adobe Firefly it has Problems when it comes, to creating specific Images. And There are no Options or Settings.

No Login required and some interesting Settings
CrAIyon also allows you to directly start generating images without any Login. And also has the interesting feature, that you can Add Keywords, that you want to exclude, which is something, I never saw before.
The Problem is, that this feature doesn’t really work. CrAIyon has problems with specific image descriptions, which makes a feature which adds complexity useless.
Also, the Image Quality can’t keep up with the other tools.
I got results like this from a simple prompt like “A Dog walking” which is just not acceptable in 2023.
And if you want images without a Watermark, you need to get a Pro Account.
In general, I wouldn’t recommend this tool.

A Collection of AI Tools
DeepAi is a Toolbox of multiple interesting and sometimes bizarre Tools, which also includes a Text to Image Tool. Which requires no Login, and does not have any Watermark. And it is also relatively easy to use.
But also here the results are far from what a tool like Midjourney can produce, especially when it comes to realism.
But something I really like are the different styles available.
I think for y quick clip art, this tool is quite useable.

DALL-E with less features
Since Microsoft bought into OpenAI which makes DALL-E Bing Image Creator uses DALL-E under the hood which is great.
The main difference to DALL-E is, that you have no options, when it comes to edit the Image Afterward. But I think for some users, who want a simple and easy solution, this can be great.
The only downside compared to some other Tools is, that you need to log in with a Microsoft Account, but I assume everyone has a Microsoft Account already.

One Tool Multiple technologies
NightCafeAI not only communicates openly which technology they are using, to create the Images, they also letting you choose between different ones including Stable Diffusion, SDXL and DALL-E.
Which means, that the user needs to know what to use, to get the result he wants to achieve. So it is not really beginner-friendly.
Every. Also costs some Credits and every User starts out with 3 which is enough for 6 Images.
But what’s fascinating is the feature called “Style Transfer” which can apply a Style of an already existing picture.
